One of the BEST sentenced I've read all year: "When confronted by an age that valued courage, an age that looked tenderly on their posterity, an age that actually used phrases like “our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor,” the soul-dead demons of the modern age howl out their misery behind a joke."

I guess this is why I get home, have dinner and sit down to a hour of The Rifleman. My daughter thinks I'm quaint, but like Opus the Penguin from Bloom County, I find that I need a daily "Dandelion break."

These shows were sort of like modern day morality plays I guess, but what are kids learning these days?

There are two current shows I do watch on TV. One is "Bones" and the other is "Once Upon a Time." These shows do have a basic good over evil theme where there is a clear line between right and wrong. Evil get's it's caboose kicked in these shows while showing that still, bad things happen to good people, but keeping the faith wins out in the end.

I do think Courage has and could have a wider audience. People are literally craving this stuff.
